Vitruvius Bed

Many household appliances look great, but hide their functional components. The most essential parts of a bed, for instance, the slats, are tucked away inside the surrounds. Judith Zeeman's Vitruvius Bed is an interwoven unity. Zeeman has drawn inspiration for the proportions of the growing body from Da Vinci’s ideally proportioned Vitruvius man. These proportions are reflected in the patterned bands; the alternating open and closed parts ensure a good support for the body. The bed can easily be folded into a small package, which makes it easy to move around.
